Uptown Art Fair to reinvest portion of proceeds back to the neighborhood to help revitalization effort

The Uptown Art Fair is back in Minneapolis and organizers say part of the proceeds will go toward neighborhood improvements in Uptown.

The fair is around Lake of the Isles and features more than 200 artists.

Just steps from the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes is Brim Restaurant, where manager Caitlin Lipinski said the business has been in the area for nearly a decade.

“You cannot beat this location,” Lipinski said.

According to Lipinski, the restaurant has operated during the neighborhood’s busiest years and through COVID, construction on Hennepin Avenue, and unrest related to George Floyd’s murder and ICE operations.

“It’s been a lot of ups and downs,” Lipinski said. “I feel like Uptown is a big, strong community and that’s what has gotten us through everything.”
