MINNEAPOLIS — Unrivaled is stopping in Minnesota this winter.
The league announced Thursday that Minneapolis is the fifth new city to host games in 2027. According to the league, the Target Center will host back-to-back games on Jan. 24, 2027. Tickets go on sale at 3 p.m. to subscribers of Unrivaled's newsletter, and then at 4 p.m. to the general public.
“Minneapolis has a deep passion for women’s basketball and we’re thrilled to welcome Unrivaled to Target Center for the first time,” said Amy Rahja, General Manager of Target Center, in a press release. “This is an exciting opportunity to bring some of the world’s best players to our city and give fans a chance to experience the energy and innovation of Unrivaled live. We’re proud to partner with Unrivaled and look forward to creating an unforgettable night for basketball fans across the Twin Cities.”
The 3-on-3 women's basketball league tipped off in 2025 after Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier teamed up with fellow WNBA All-Star Breanna Stewart to give players the chance to play during the offseason without having to travel overseas. The league began with six teams and expanded to eight in 2026, playing primarily in Miami.

“Bringing Unrivaled right to the amazing fans in Minneapolis is something we’ve been dreaming of since day one of the league, and we’re grateful for the city and Target Center’s support in making this possible,” said Collier in a press release. “I have no doubt that the arena will be packed and ready to cheer on some of the best players in the world in the Unrivaled style that has truly changed the game on and off the court for women’s basketball.”
Last month, Unrivaled announced that it had raised funds that put its valuation at $650 million, nearly double its valuation from a year ago, when the league closed a Series B funding round, the Associated Press reported. Unrivaled also announced that the portion of the company owned by its players is valued at nearly $200 million. The league said the player equity pool has increased 550% since it was launched.
Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell said the Series C funding is more than all of the league’s other funding combined.
