WASHINGTON — UFC flyweight fighter Allan Nascimento died of an apparent heart attack in his sleep, the promotion said on Monday.
Nascimento, who was 34 years old and from Brazil, was found unresponsive on Monday morning and was pronounced dead at the scene, UFC said on social media.
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," UFC said in its statement.
As a member of the Chute Boxe Diego Lima team, Nascimento's record was 4-2. For his career, the fighter known as "Puro Osso" amassed a 22-7 record, with 16 of his wins coming by way of submission, UFC said.
