Twins taking on Phillies at new MLB ‘Field of Dreams’ stadium in Iowa

The Minnesota Twins will take center stage at the new permanent “Field of Dreams” stadium in Iowa on Thursday night for a matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies.

With homeruns into the cornfield and ghosts of old ballplayers watching on, the mystique and nostalgia in Dyersville, Iowa has put the small town, with less than 5,000 people, on the map.

Normally, the field can seat about 4,200, but with the temporary bleachers added back for the major league crowd, there will be room for about 8,000 people.

Major League Baseball had previously played games in 2021 and 2022 at a temporary facility next to the “Field of Dreams” movie site, but Thursday’s game will be the first at the new ballpark.
