A new TV ad attacking Democratic First District congressional challenger Jake Johnson mixes true, false and misleading statements regarding the Somali community and Johnson’s stance on taxes.
It’s paid for by the “No Going Back” political action committee connected to President Donald Trump’s MAGA campaign arm. The PAC has raised $200 million to support Republicans and oppose Democrats across the country.
“Tim Walz endorses Jake Johnson because they have a lot in common,” the ad says.
This is true. Walz did endorse Johnson through his Small Town PAC. They do have a lot in common, including the fact that Walz used to serve as the First District congressman.
“They both promoted Somali immigration even as they committed rampant government fraud,” the ad says of Walz and Johnson.
