TRUTH TEST: Ad attacking Brad Finstad gets a C

A new TV ad attacking First District Congressman Brad Finstad offers up a mix of inaccurate and misleading statements along with some truthful claims.

Most of the claims focus on Finstad’s vote in favor of the “Big Beautiful Budget Bill” in July of 2025.

“What votes does Brad Finstad hope you never learn about?” the ad says. “Brad Finstad voted to shut down nine hospitals and health care clinics in Minnesota.”

This is false. Or at best, it’s not true yet. The ad accuses Finstad of voting for the budget bill so that nine hospitals and clinics in Minnesota would close. That might happen eventually because of the bill’s Medicaid cuts, but it hasn’t happened yet.
