WASHINGTON — A judge on Wednesday set the trial date for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed "mastermind" of the 9/11 attacks, nearly 25 years after the terror attacks in New York City.
According to ABC News and the New York Times, Mohammed's trial will start on June 5, 2028. Prosecutors had sought a trial in 2027.
Mohammed has been held at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo since 2003.
