Trailer drops for 'The Trial of Alec Baldwin,' documentary based on 'Rust' shooting

WASHINGTON — A trailer was released Thursday for a new documentary about the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie "Rust," and the trials that followed. 

Hutchins was killed in October 2021 in New Mexico during production of the Western, when actor Alec Baldwin shot a prop gun that had been loaded with a live round. Baldwin said he thought the gun contained dummy rounds.

"When they told me she died, I was in shock. I was in disbelief," Baldwin said in an interview in the trailer.
