Timberwolves to retire Kevin Garnett’s No. 21 jersey this season

Kevin Garnett’s will enter the history books as a Minnesota Timberwolves legend later this season when the team retires number 21.

Garnett is set to become the second Timberwolves player in franchise history to have their number retired, joining Malik Sealy.

The ceremony will happen after the team’s game against the Boston Celtics on Feb. 28, 2027.

“Minnesota is home. That’s never changed. This is where it all started for me, so seeing No. 21 go up in Target Center and sharing that moment with the fans, my family, teammates, coaches, and everyone who’s been part of this journey means everything,” said Garnett.

Minnesota’s all-time leader in wins, points and rebounds spent 14 years with the franchise after being drafted 5th overall in the 1995 NBA draft.

Since retiring in 2016, Garnett has since joined the Timberwolves as a team ambassador.
