Timberwolves to host Thunder on Christmas, open season in Miami, NBA announces

The Minnesota Timberwolves will take center stage for two of the NBA’s biggest days this season: Christmas Day and opening night.

Just days ahead of the full schedule release, ESPN and ABC have announced that the wolves will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day and begin the regular season in Miami against a re-vamped Heat roster that added superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in the offseason.

The wolves, who are not short on superstar talent, are likely to be highlighted on national television plenty this season after trading for LaMelo Ball, a much anticipated add for a Minnesota team led by Anthony Edwards.

Ball will make his debut on Oct. 21 for the first game of the NBA season at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The Christmas Day matchup between the Timberwolves and the Thunder will tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
