The Timberwolves added a veteran role player and a young developmental piece to their roster Saturday, acquiring forwards John Konchar and Cody Williams from the Utah Jazz in exchange for Josh Green and cash considerations.
Williams, 21, is a former first-round pick still viewed as one of the league’s intriguing young forwards. He was the 10th pick in the 2024 Draft.
A source tells KSTP that the Wolves will waive and stretch Konchar’s contract.
The Wolves made this move to free up the necessary salary cap space to pay new starting power forward Jonathan Kuminga $6M/year.
