A teen boy was airlifted to the hospital after an ATV crash in northern Minnesota, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders say the 15-year-old boy was the only person on the ATV when it went off the road and into the trees. The crash caused the ATV to lose its front wheel and the teen was ejected off.
The crash happened near Orr in Leiding Township and emergency crews were called to the scene at about 7:43 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities say that speed and the teen’s lack of driving experience likely led to the crash.
The teens name and his current condition has not been released.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
