A man who pleaded guilty to injuring a pregnant woman and killing her unborn child in a car crash has been ordered to serve six years in prison for the crime.
Christopher James Otte, 33, of Avon, registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.201 after he ran a stop sign and crashed head-on into the woman’s car in St. Cloud on Feb. 13, charging documents state.

Witnesses said Otte was driving “very fast” prior to the crash, and surveillance footage captured him also running a stop sign a few blocks away. Investigators determined that he caused the collision by swerving into oncoming traffic.
