ST JOSEPH, Minn. — A building in St. Wendel Township near St. Joseph in Stearns County is at the center of a legal dispute over weddings and other gatherings held on the property. The Stearns County Attorney and Sheriff’s Offices said the owner of the property is operating an events venue without the proper permits and infrastructure and warned that future events, including weddings, could be shut down.
The property owner, Aloysius William Studniski, disputes that characterization. “I’m having religious gatherings here,” Studniski said. He described the gatherings as "private and religious" and said they are limited to his family and friends.
