Hennepin and Ramsey counties have declined to invite federal observers into polling places, but the Department of Justice plans to send them to observe outside.
MINNEAPOLIS — If you vote in Minnesota's primary election on Tuesday, you might encounter a federal observer outside. If you look close, you might also notice a state observer observing that observer.
"I certainly understand why reports of agents of the federal government at the polls would alarm people, especially here in Minnesota, given what we have all gone through over the last several months," said Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon.
