WASHINGTON — Starbucks is planning to close 250 stores as soon as this week in the U.S. and Canada.
The plan, announced Thursday, is the second major round of closures since Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol joined in 2024. Almost exactly one year ago, Starbucks closed 627 stores in North America and Europe and laid off 900 non-retail employees.
