A large homeless encampment at Pig’s Eye Park is now being cleared out near downtown St. Paul as as city teams go tent to tent and supporters gather outside on Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson for the St. Paul mayor’s office said there will not be any heavy machinery coming in today. However, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has seen two Bobcat front loaders go around to the back of the camp.
Despite organizers saying that about 200 people were still at the camp, the mayor’s office said only 40 people were left there.
The mayor’s office told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS conversations were happening with teams of three or four people from the city inside the grounds.
