St. Paul’s City Council president says she supports closing the city’s largest and long-standing homeless encampment if everyone there has an indoor place to go.

City Council President Rebecca Noecker said Tuesday she supports Mayor Kaohly Her’s plan to clear the homeless camp at Pig’s Eye Park on Wednesday if people have indoor options that meet their needs. She said closing the camp is an executive decision by the mayor’s office, and the council’s role is to push for details.
