WASHINGTON — SpaceX plans to retrieve the upper-stage part of its Starship rocket from the Indian Ocean, where it has been floating since a landmark test flight last month, Elon Musk announced on social media.
The spacecraft has been bobbing in the ocean since July 24, when it completed the 13th test flight of the world’s biggest rocket and pulled off its first-ever intact ocean landing. SpaceX has not said exactly how it plans to recover the vehicle, however, experts say the spacecraft is unlikely to be reusable given its exposure to saltwater.
