After hosting Dalton Risner for a visit a month and a half ago, the Vikings are finally bringing the veteran offensive lineman on board. A source confirmed to the Pioneer Press that the Vikings have agreed to terms with Risner and he’s expected to arrive in Minnesota this week.
This is a huge addition for the 0-2 Vikings considering their struggles on the offensive line in the losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Though he has played exclusively at left guard throughout his career, Risner figures to be an option at right guard for the Vikings, perhaps as soon as this Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Let’s just say right Ed Ingram has left something to be desired at right guard throughout his tenure.
Not only has Risner started 62 games in his career, he has a relationship with Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper, who previously held the same position with the Denver Broncos.
