So Minnesota: 3 ghosts are known to haunt St. Paul’s historic Mounds Theatre

The beginning of October marks the official start of the Halloween season.

The historic Mounds Theatre in St. Paul’s Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood has a haunted reputation.

“We have a range of people from skeptics to true believers,” Heather Rand-McKay with the Mounds Theatre said.

Built in 1922 as a venue for silent movies and live entertainment, the building has earned a reputation for paranormal activities. Ghost hunters perform investigations in the theater, searching for spirits from the other side.

“There are people who say they have gotten grabbed, scratched, touched; they have gotten footage of these people,” Rand-McKay said. “They have seen full-body apparitions. The lore is that three ghosts inhabit the theater.”

Along with ghost tours, the Mounds Theatre holds plays and community events.
