Shot fired at Edina basketball court prompts church to remove community hoops

Edina police say no one was hurt after gunfire outside a church basketball court, but the shooting is raising new calls for safety changes.

Police said shots were fired Tuesday night outside Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where witnesses said a group of teenagers was fired upon at the church’s basketball court. No one was hurt. Edina police said the investigation remains active.

“After this week’s shooting at Our Lady of Grace, I know many people in Edina are feeling frustrated, angry, and frankly afraid,” Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn said in a social media post.
