We’re headed into the overnight hours with scattered showers and storms continuing mainly north of the metro. Severe storms have come in rounds across northern Minnesota this evening, with some producing 70 mph winds and large hail.
Earlier this afternoon, a severe thunderstorm also moved through the core metro and brought some much-needed rain. Unfortunately, for many areas, it still was not nearly enough to make up for how dry it has been.
Tonight stays mostly cloudy, warm, and muggy, with lows only falling into the low 70s.
Friday, State Fair Day 9, turns mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Highs climb into the low 90s, with feels-like temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. If you’re heading to the fair, plan for extra water, breaks, and shade.
