Mike Murphy volunteered at several events and festivals in Red Wing.
RED WING, Minn. — Concerts in the Park on Wednesdays have quickly become a popular Red Wing summer event, but this week’s concert hit a little differently.
It was the first night without Mike Murphy. Around Red Wing he was known as “Community Mike,” because he was everywhere all the time.
“He gave his heart and soul to the community,” said Doug, owner of Liberty’s Restaurant and Lounge.
He said Mike has been a customer since 1975 and came in three times a week and always ordered a 1919 Root Beer.
