WASHINGTON — Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers got an unwelcome birthday gift as she turned 32 this week: Hospitalization for appendicitis.
Bridgers, whose birthday is Aug. 17, posted a photo to Instagram Stories on Wednesday showing herself in a black hoodie with the hood up and an IV in her arm.
"I got appendicitis for my birthday," she wrote.
She went on to say that her tour dates scheduled for this week in the U.K. are being postponed, "but I'll make it up to you!"
A second photo on her Instagram Stories shows her with a guitar and microphone and says, "Last known photo of my and my appendix."
