The nonprofit says the opening of its third shelter expands the number of families it can support by 45%.

People Serving People, Minnesota's largest provider of emergency shelter and stabilization programs, recently opened its third shelter in the Twin Cities. 

According to the nonprofit, the new shelter — Belonging Place — is a key expansion to help address family homelessness. People Serving People said the opening expands the number of families it can support by 45%. 

"With the number of families experiencing housing instability expected to rise due to the lack of affordable housing and the rising cost of living, People Serving People quickly pivoted to meet community needs," the organization wrote in a press release.
