MINNEAPOLIS — Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan was won the DFL nomination for U.S. Senate, the AP called.
Flanagan was up against Congresswoman Angie Craig. The DFL primary for U.S. Senate was arguable the marquee race in Minnesota Tuesday night. The race has drawn millions in outside spending, making it by far the most expensive primary race in the state this year.
Flanagan, who has served two terms as Minnesota's second-in-command under Gov. Tim Walz, painted herself as the more progressive candidate who will push for bold policies in the Senate such as universal child care and Medicare for All.
