The Como Park Zoo has welcomed in two new nyala calves that were born about three weeks apart.

Both calves were fathered by Ollie, who became a first-time father with Hubert’s arrival on Oct. 3 and welcomed his second calf just 20 days later.

Nyala, which are native to southern Africa, are spiral-horned antelope that live in woodland and thicket habitats.

According to zoo officials, visitors can now catch a glimpse of Hubert and his mother, Stevie, in their indoor habitat, while first-time mom Meadow and her newborn daughter continue bonding behind the scenes. She will be named by volunteers during a recognition event on Nov. 5.

Hubert was named by guests attending Como Friends’ “Como After Hours” event.

Zoo staff say that Meadow is Stevie’s daughter, making Stevie both a new mother and a new grandmother this month.
