Multiple killed in Oregon elementary school shooting
We are now getting reports this Thursday that a suspected shooter was killed inside an Oregon elementary school after gunfire left multiple victims, including children, according to local police. Early reports indicate that 3 children and 1 adult are among the victims. Details are currently limited, but authorities confirm that hundreds of law enforcement officers were at the elementary school responding to an active shooter, following a 911 phone call made around 12:59 p.m. A press conference from law enforcement and local officials is expected later this evening.
At least five people, including the suspect, were killed in Thursday’s shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.
Another two victims were transported to nearby hospitals in unknown conditions, police said.

Dispatchers received a call about shots fired into a car at 12:59 p.m. local time.
An alert went out to officers at 1 p.m., and police arrived at the scene at approximately 1:02 p.m., Sheila Miller, Bend Police Department’s communications manager said during a news briefing.

When officers arrived, the suspect was dead, but it was unclear whether they were shot by a bystander or the wound was self-inflicted.
The school in Bend, Oregon, which is more than 100 miles (160 kilometers) southeast of Portland, had 459 enrolled students as of last year, according to the Oregon Department of Education. The school serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
