Neighbors in South Minneapolis have banded together over the last year to support Annunciation families following the Aug. 27, 2025 mass shooting.
MINNEAPOLIS — Every time Luann Brown hears an emergency vehicle in her South Minneapolis neighborhood, her mind drifts to Aug. 27, 2025, a date that will be forever etched in her memory.
One year ago Thursday, she heard the first responders rush to nearby Annunciation Catholic Church.
"It was obvious something horrific was happening," Brown said, reflecting on last year's events while sitting a few miles away from the church at Lake Harriet.
