Former Minnesota Sen. Nicole Mitchell has won a spot on the Woodbury City Council over a year after she was convicted for burglarizing her stepmother’s Detroit Lakes home back in 2024.
100% of the Woodbury precincts have now reported and Mitchell will join Samantha Wolf as the two newest members to the city council. Wolf led the way, receiving 10,502 votes, which is 17.78% of the total votes. Mitchell was second, receiving 7,837 votes, which is 13.27% of the total votes.
Mitchell edged out Steve Morris but just over 100 votes for the second place spot.
According to Mitchell’s campaign, her priorities include science-based policy, lower costs, transparency and community representation in Woodbury.
