WASHINGTON — The National Hurricane Center is monitoring two disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean could develop into storms.
The weather agency said Saturday that the development window for the two tropical waves, or disturbances, is tight because of strong upper-level winds nearby, and the chance for tropical cyclone formation was considered low for both waves.
The first wave, which has a low chance of development, was located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands as of Saturday evening and was expected to move westward across the central Atlantic.
