While MnDOT said Highway 280 is on track to reopen before the State Fair, some drivers are causing problems during the current closure.
ST PAUL, Minnesota — Highway 280 is on track to reopen before the Minnesota State Fair, as planned, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).
However, as MnDOT is getting the highway ready to reopen, they're running into problems with some drivers entering the work zone and putting crews in a dangerous situation.
"I see a lot of frustrated drivers in these zones. It almost seems like they're mad at the construction workers or something. It's no one's fault. You know, it's Minnesota. We need road repair," said Garrett Rautio, owner of Black Coffin Tattoo on University Avenue in St. Paul.
