SAINT PAUL, Minn. — This week, nearly 300 law enforcement agencies across Minnesota will begin extra patrols to crack down on drinking and driving.
The extra enforcement campaign will last until Labor Day.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says so far this year 62 people have been killed in DWI-related crashes, and another 179 people have been seriously injured.
Safety officials held a press conference Monday morning to announce the enforcement campaign, and they invited a Minnesota man who shared his own personal story about how a DWI affected his life.
