A new federal indictment accuses a Minnesota man of taking part in a child meal fraud scheme tied to Feeding Our Future and using the money to buy a car and a home, among other things.
According to the indictment filed late last month in federal court, Shaakir Mohamud Ibrahim is charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering, along with five counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from unlawful activity.
Court records say the alleged scheme targeted the Federal Child Nutrition Program, which provides meal reimbursements for children.
