MINNESOTA, USA — Minnesota has one of the nation’s lowest MMR vaccination rates among kindergartners, according to recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data. Pediatricians warn that declining vaccination rates could leave communities more vulnerable to outbreaks of measles, whooping cough and other preventable illnesses.
According to the CDC, about 86% of Minnesota kindergartners are vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella, while non-medical exemptions rose to 6.8% during the past school year.
