One firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) extinguished a two-alarm fire at an apartment building on Sunday.
Firefighters arrived at the building at 1005 Portland Ave. around 10 a.m. to find smoke and flames coming from a third-floor window. MFD reported that residents were evacuated from the building.
Fire crews extinguished the flames, which were mostly located in one apartment on the third floor. One firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
MFD reported that four apartments were unsuitable for living immediately after the fire. Red Cross was called to help the residents to find housing options in the interim.
