Minneapolis police officer fires gun during carjacking arrest, no injuries reported

Minneapolis police will hold a press conference Thursday to provide details about a carjacking arrest in which an officer reportedly fired their gun.

According to police, officers were called for a reported carjacking near the intersection of 31st Street West and Grand Avenue South.

While attempting to arrest a suspect, a Minneapolis police officer reportedly fired their gun, though no one was injured as a result.

The police department intends to share more information during an 8:15 p.m. press conference.
