Minneapolis man shot near Hennepin Avenue in early morning fight, police say

Minneapolis police are investigating a Saturday shooting after a man was found injured in a parking lot.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to a shooting around 5:36 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound near 2929 Hennepin Avenue South. Police took him to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary information shows the man was involved in an altercation that escalated to gunfire near the 1400 block of West Lake Street. Officers secured the scene, canvassed the area and collected evidence

Police said there have been no arrests and they are working to learn what led up to the shooting.
