Minneapolis man gets probation, stayed prison sentence for hiding body in shed

A Minneapolis man was sentenced to probation for helping a Burnsville woman hide a dead body in 2024. His prison term was stayed.

According to court records, 50-year-old Christopher Hawkins was sentenced for aiding Josephine Powers to hide a man’s body at his Minneapolis home. On July 9, 2024, Powers shot and killed 70-year-old Michael Riccio at her father’s home. She was sentenced back in March to more than 21 years in prison.
