MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Fire Department hosted its "Firefighter for a Day" Experience in collaboration with The Arc Minnesota.
The Arc Minnesota says its main goal is to protect the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to promote agency in their own lives.
“In a lot of ways, people with disabilities have been left behind,” said Rachel Olson with the organization. “We are fighting to elevate the voice of people with disabilities.”
The Minneapolis Fire Department donated the experience during an annual fundraiser for The Arc Minnesota. This is the fire department's second time doing an event like this.
