MINNEAPOLIS — A new event in north Minneapolis celebrates and uplifts Black history and Black futurity.
The inaugural Midwest Black Book Fair will be held on Aug. 22, presented by Black Garnet Books.
The fair comes during Black August, a month-long commemoration dedicated to recognizing Black abolitionists, freedom fighters, and political prisoners. The book fair will be a celebration of Black literature and culture. There will be meet-and-greets, book signings, writing workshops, and a literary raffle.
The Midwest Black Book Fair will take place at 2001 Plymouth Avenue North in Minneapolis.
