Man sentenced after pleading guilty to murder in roommate's death

MINNEAPOLIS — A Richfield man was sentenced to life in prison Monday after pleading guilty last month to his roommate's murder last year.

Shay Michael Benson, 38, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder while committing domestic abuse with a past pattern, after his roommate, Jennifer Millons, was found violently beaten. As part of the plea, Benson will have the possibility of parole after 30 years.
