Man found dead in Normanna Township after propane tank explosion

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Minn. (FOX 9) - A propane tank explosion led authorities to find a man dead in Normanna Township on Aug. 24.

What we know:

Around 1:52 p.m. on Aug. 24, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says 911 was called by a neighbor after hearing several propane tanks explode and discovering a residence actively on fire in the area of East Pioneer Road and Pioneer Junction Road in Normanna Township.

Responding authorities found multiple outbuildings fully engulfed in flames, and as their investigation progressed they reported finding one deceased man.

His identity has not been released by authorities.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the incident remains an active investigation.
