Man dies days after attack outside Catholic Charities campus in downtown St. Paul

Officials have identified a man who died days after he was attacked outside St. Paul’s largest homeless shelter.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck in the head the evening of Aug. 3 outside the Catholic Charities campus on Dorothy Day Place. He was taken to Regions Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on Friday.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 61-year-old Isaiah J. Wilson of St. Paul.

Police say the homicide remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
