These days, medical dramas and police procedurals are easy to come by; many have their own dedicated nights on network television. Years before “The Pitt” had found its way into the living rooms across the country, filmmaker Nathan Deming was writing a deeply human feature film focused on palliative (end-of-life) care called “Winter Hymns.”
