Listen: Gophers volleyball coach Cook, star setter Swenson preview 2026 season

We caught up recently with Gophers volleyball coach Keegan Cook and redshirt sophomore setter Stella Swenson. The Gophers open the 2026 season later this month.

The Gophers came in at No. 14 in the AVCA Preseason Poll, it was announced Monday. The Gophers have now been ranked in the preseason poll in 11 straight seasons and 25 of the last 27.

Last year, the Gophers went 24-10 (12-8 Big Ten) before falling to Pittsburgh in the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16.

Minnesota competed against No. 2 Texas on Monday in an exhibition and has another vs. Iowa State before playing Arizona State in the season-opener on Aug. 28 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

This is Cook’s 4th-year as Gophers head coach.
