SMITHS GROVE, Ky. — A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a Kentucky state trooper during a traffic stop on a highway Monday afternoon, officials said.

Trooper Hayden Phillips, 30, was shot when he pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 65 in Warren County, Kentucky, around 3 p.m. Sept. 28, Col. Phillip Burnett Jr., commissioner of the Kentucky State Police, said during a news conference.
