Jury finds Jordan Collins Sr. guilty of killing son, disposing of body in landfill

A jury has convicted a Columbia Heights man of second-degree murder after investigators found he killed his 16-year-old son and dumped the body in an Elk River landfill.

Jurors returned a verdict just hours after closing arguments wrapped up Wednesday.

Jordan Collins Sr., 39, was charged in the death of his son, Jordan “Manny” Collins Jr. He represented himself in court during the three-week trial.

According to charging documents, Manny Collins was last seen by his mother on May 8, 2025; after weeks of searching, his remains were recovered on July 1, 2025.
