The window is now open for people who purchased certain recent iPhone models to begin filing claims to receive their share of the quarter-billion-dollar settlement fund established in the wake of the class-action lawsuit filed against Apple, accusing the tech giant of false advertising.
Big picture view:
Qualifying iPhone owners who file a claim could receive a $25 payment per device. However, that figure could rise as high as $95 per device based on the number of claims submitted and other factors, according to the settlement website.
Which iPhones are included in the settlement?
The settlement covers all versions of the iPhone 16 as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max that were sold between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.
Who qualifies for the iPhone settlement?
To qualify, a person must be the iPhone’s original owner, and the phone must have been purchased for personal use.

What's next:
After all the claims have been submitted, the court will hold a hearing to decide if the settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate, the settlement website explains. The hearing is currently slated to happen on February 24, 2027.

The backstory:
The lawsuit had accused Apple of duping its customers with a marketing campaign that promoted features for its Siri AI that did not yet exist and misled them into purchasing the devices, The Associated Press reported at the time of the settlement. The court filing claimed that buyers would not have bought the eligible devices, or they would have paid substantially less for them, if they were aware, the Enhanced Siri features were not available.

Apple released a statement on the settlement obtained by the AP that said "Apple has reached a settlement to resolve claims related to the availability of two additional features. We resolved this matter to stay focused on doing what we do best, delivering the most innovative products and services to our users."
